“Coffee pot” is a plant pot made out of a mix of coffee waste and plant-based materials.

The project utilizes the leftover coffee that is thrown away after its minimal use, each time an espresso shot is prepared.

 

The project involved a research regarding material that would meet specific criterias: it had to be made out of organic, plant-based materials, form a solid and stable object and also biodegrade when planted.  “coffee pot" is the result of the research. A plant pot that transforms coffee waste into a useful raw material.  As a natural fertilizer, the coffee helps the plant, once the plant pot has decomposed in the earth. The product serves as an alternative to industrial plastic plant pots.
